Siren abuse refers to the illegal, unauthorized, or unnecessary use of sirens and flashing lights by drivers to bypass traffic regulations or traffic jams, or other non-emergency reasons.
I don't know exactly how many use of sirens for fake emergency alarms in Thailand. But I think in the past there must have been a lot of them.
A retired police officers in my area have had many bad experiences with fake emergency vehicles, emergency vehicles that turn on their sirens when there is no real emergency, emergency vehicles that turn on their sirens too suddenly on the road, etc. Therefore, he did not believe the sirens anymore.
