Donald Trump is the Greatest EV Salesman in History - EV Sales are EXPLODING

h0ngcom's comment :

In Thailand, now it is not just the rising prices of fuels anymore. NOW it is the fuel shortages!!!

The current bad situations luring some people to buy EVs, but most of them are Chinese products.

There is a case of a Chinese EV company failed in Thailand.

There are many cases of waiting spare parts of a Chinese EV model for so long times.

There are some cases of the battery packs and/or electric motors failed too soon if use the EV cars more than 160,000 kms in few years (much sooner than 8 years warranties but reached the mileage limit such as 160,000 kms). Yes, the failures happened after warranty ended, but the warranty ends too soon since the mileage limit reached at many years before the 8 years of the car. Then there are the insane expensive prices to replaces.

Since the first mass-market Chinese EVs (and maybe EVs overall) in Thailand, MG ZS EV, is just released in 2019 or 2020. We in the year 2026 still don't see if they can live longer than 8 years and how longevity they are.

Anti-EV people, including anti-EV automotive engineers, which seems very credible, keeping says "EVs' lifetime is just 8 years" and they emphasized the very long lifespan of gas cars.

Some people fleeing the fuel shortage situations by buying an EV but in the most cases they are completely unaware that they are about to get a much worse car.

I would use a Thai idiom to describe this situation: "fleeing tiger [but] facing crocodile."
