https://www.teslarati.com/study-less-than-1-percent-ev-owners-switch-back-ice/ "A recent study from the Global EV Drivers Alliance (GEVA) has determined that less than 1% of electric vehicle drivers wish to switch back to driving a gasoline or diesel-powered car. GEVA’s study is quite extensive, as it involved 23,254 respondents across 18 countries. These include Austria, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States. Based on the results of the study, 92% of EV drivers will buy another electric car again if they had to replace their car tomorrow. A total of 4% of EV drivers will purchase a hybrid or plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) if they had to replace their vehicle tomorrow. Less than 1% of EV drivers will return to a gasoline or diesel car if they had to replace their EV tomorrow."
Most countries are European. Canada and USA are in North America continent. India is in Asia.
Only two countries in the list are in South America continent. Also only these two countries' EV car markets are ruling by Chinese EV car companies.
Brazil
https://about.bnef.com/blog/did-you-spot-a-new-ev-in-brazil-its-probably-chinese/ "Focusing on emerging markets with less established competition and growing demand has helped Chinese EV makers – especially B** – gain a first-mover advantage. Chinese automakers accounted for 89% of EVs sold in Brazil in the first half of 2024, up from 74% in 2023."
https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/blogs/energysource/brazil-is-buying-lots-of-chinese-evs-will-that-continue/ "Over the course of 2023, the value of Chinese BEV exports to Brazil surged eighteen-fold as automakers like B** expanded their presence in the country. Chinese BEVs accounted for 92 percent of Brazil’s total BEV imports in this period."
Costa Rica
https://cleantechnica.com/2024/09/09/costa-rica-ev-sales-report-latin-americas-champion-surpasses-all-expectations-in-july-as-%c2%bc-of-market-becomes-fully-electric-in-july/ "[Costa Rica] has the healthy presence of a lot of brands — most of them Chinese — and what seems to be the most competitive ecosystem in the entire continent. While B** owns 70% of Uruguay’s market, and achieved 50% market share in Colombia during July, in Costa Rica this brand only accounts for a quarter of EV sales."
Thailand
GEVA does not survey in Thailand. The Thai EV market is having too many Chinese products, and almost none of Japaneses that people are really want.
A Thai video from BANKII, a food YouTuber, from 20 August 2022, with the headline that means "Tesla [Model Y] electric car review, real driving for 3 months, [I] want to goodbye...fuel cars for life." However, it is TESLA. So h0ngcom think it is easier (than other EVs, especially Chinese products) to goodbye fuel cars.
