In Thailand, the Kia EV5 lowered prices, making it to compete better with Chinese EVs.
BYD is still much more popular, with dealers and service centers all over Thailand.
However, the nationality of brand and car matter. Many Thai people still avoiding Chinese products and Chinese brands. Then the Kia brand still looks much better.
And personally, I think that boxy cars, or cars that look sharp, not so rounded, are becoming popular again. This Kia looks better to me.
In this case, BYD looks more worthwhile, has more systems, and the price in Thailand is closer to that in China. BYD also has distribution channels and service centers throughout Thailand. Kia Thailand still lacks of service centers. (Currently, official service centers are still very important for EVs because there are still lack of EV mechanics.)
